Elephant Breeding Center, Chitwan is established in 1986 with 6 male and 12 female elephants. An elephant was rapidly decreasing at the time of the establishment. The center is government-owned and its purpose is to raise the young elephant to secure a viable number. The domesticated elephants of the government Hattisars and Elephant Breeding Center are used for anti-poaching surveillance, captive-breeding program, wildlife monitoring, capturing problem animals, and evacuating trapped animals. They are also used for many purposes like ecotourism, wildlife research, conservation education, and special ceremonies.
This is the first Elephant Breeding Center in Asia and is located approximately 2 km. from our resort. Our naturalist will take you to the Elephant Breeding Center to show the baby elephants and will brief you on elephants.
Many colorful birds, Wild Boar, Spotted Deer, and Wild Elephants are some of the most seen animals nearby the Elephant Breeding Center. You can enjoy seeing a baby playing with each other during your visit.

Bird Watching is an amazing tour that takes you to the wonderland situated in the Lower region of Nepal called Chitwan. this intensely beautiful tropical land is dominated by a chain of spectacular hills and floodplain areas. The country is divided broadly into three ecological zones: the lowland (Terai), the mid-hills, and the high mountains, each with its characteristic fauna and flora, with the result that Nepal is one of the most biologically diverse countries in the world, with more bird species to the square mile than any other country on earth. This is a birder’s paradise where more than 915 species have been recorded, nearly 10% of the world’s total, and you will see a vast range of bird life on this tour. More than 60% of Nepal’s birds have been found in Chitwan National Park(CNP) and its periphery. The CNP area is one of the best places in the world to observe and study various bird species. Apart from resident species, many migrating birds arrive at CNP in the winter from as far as Siberia as well as other places thousands of miles away.
This holiday tour is designed for the more serious birdwatcher, as we work harder than usual to find some special species which might otherwise be missed. There are many birds to add to our usual target list, giving a total for the holiday of perhaps up to 400/500 species, some of which are hard to find. You can expect fabulous birding in Royal Tiger Luxury Resort with an experienced local guide, widely regarded as one of the best birders in the country.

Tharu cultural dance show is an important event of an ethnic group indigenous to the Tarai region (Southern belt of Nepal). A cultural program performed by the Tharus will be another highlight of your visit to the Royal Tiger Luxury Resort. Enjoy an evening of entertainment while learning more about Tharu and their culture. Young Tharu men and women from Sauraha will perform traditional folk songs and dances for you, wearing their ethnic costumes such as a blouse and skirt for the girl and the male wears a choli as top, nahagi as a dress, and upfront around their chest. The stories they tell are about things that are central to their lives in rural villages, such as harvesting and their cultural ceremonies. You will gather outside, seated around the courtyard, and the performers will sing and dance in the middle You can expect to see dances such as the Bhajayati(war dance) and Thekara (stick dance), Mayur Nach (peacock dance), the fire dance, and others.

The experience of canoeing in the majestic Rapti River or Dhumre can be both a peaceful and a thrilling experience. During the slow ride in a traditional dug-out canoe, you will get a breathtaking view of the Chitwan National Park as well as its different wildlife. Bird lovers will be pleased to view different species of birds like the Kingfisher, Egret, Cormorant, Pond Heron, and Open Billed Stork. However, the most thrilling part of the ride is the opportunity to see two species of crocodiles, Called Gharial and Marsh Mugger. As the critically endangered Gharial is only found in the northern part of the Indian Subcontinent, you are certainly not going to regret its sighting.
The chance to flow along with the river taking close look at the crocodiles and wild beasts on the river bank is a very popular activity in Sauraha. It is also possible to reach Ghatgain, another tourist spot of Chitwan by canoe approximately 18 km down streams from Sauraha.
A journey down the Rapti river in a traditional ‘dugout canoe offers you the chance to quietly observe the exotic species of birds and animals that come for a sip at the riverside.
In a Canoeing ride on the Rapt River, you see the popular Marsha Mugger and Gharial Crocodiles in sand banks. You can see close proximity to them from your dug-out canoe and the naturalist guide you in their proper way. During the Canoeing, you can see the many species of birds, reptiles, and more on the river.

Considered one of Nepal’s best parks comprised of wetlands, riverine forests, and grassland. Park is Home to at least 68 species of mammals, the ‘King of the Jungle’ here is the Royal Bengal tiger. Leopards are most active on the fringes of the Park, and even though they co-exist with tigers, being socially subordinate they are not common in the tiger’s prime habitat. Should luck not be on your side in finding the rare Bengal tiger, your chances are higher of seeing the iconic great one-horn rhino, currently on the brink of extinction.
